Did the tech industry grow in 2022 despite the layoffs? All data points to yes.

It seems in the distant past, but it was only a few months ago that the news cycle featured endless headlines and commentary regarding the sweeping layoffs across Silicon Valley and some of tech’s most recognized companies.

Companies like Meta reported big numbers of layoffs (up to 10,000) and it had everybody spooked. Twitter caused major rumblings with its announced layoffs. Now, with 2022 a few months behind us, what does the data say about the tech industry? And what are the projections for 2023?

The reality is, and we don’t think anyone is particularly surprised, that the tech industry showed no signs of slowing down in 2022.

According to CompTIA’s ‘State of the Tech Workforce’ year in review report, tech employment grew in all 50 states in the U.S.
