PHP Engineer

About the Role

• Are you ready to be part of the next big move in fintech? We’re looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to join a Mexico-based cross-functional team focused on launching a new mobile finance product. You’ll help build the backend foundations for this product, contributing to a high-growth expansion strategy in one of the world’s leading fintech companies.

About You

• You have hands-on experience with modern PHP development, ideally using PHP 8+. ● You enjoy solving complex challenges and designing scalable solutions in cross-functional teams. ● You know how to communicate technical concepts clearly with both engineers and product stakeholders. ● You take initiative and ownership of your work, and you thrive in dynamic environments. ● You’ve worked with API contracts, event-driven systems, and modern DevOps pipelines What You’ll Be Doing ● Develop and maintain backend services using PHP 8 and Symfony. ● Collaborate with frontend developers to define and document API behaviors. ● Work closely with product and engineering teams to define MVP features. ● Leverage internal platforms and insights from other teams to accelerate delivery. ● Ensure robust automated testing (unit, integration, functional) is in place. ● Contribute to CI/CD workflows and monitoring practices. ● Participate in architectural discussions and tech decision-making. Technical Requirements

Must-Haves

• : ● +5 years of experience with PHP (PHP 8+). ● Strong knowledge of Symfony or similar frameworks. ● Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and AWS. ● Solid skills in automated testing (PHPUnit, Behat). ● Familiarity with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and monitoring tools like Datadog.

Nice-to-Haves

• : ● Knowledge of Domain Driven Design and event sourcing. ● Experience with RabbitMQ or message-driven systems. ● Familiarity with financial systems or fintech products. ● Intermediate (B2) or higher Spanish proficiency.
