About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to ship outcomes and multiply the people around them at a fast-moving technology company. You'll be a hands-on individual contributor who delivers complex projects while simultaneously raising the bar for your team's engineering quality, velocity, and technical decision-making.
This is not a management role — it's a force-multiplier role. You write production code every day, lead by example, and create leverage through technical design, mentorship, internal tooling, and platform abstractions that make everyone around you faster.
About You
You have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a tech lead or senior technical leadership capacity, and you've owned major capabilities end-to-end from strategy through long-term operation.
You're a strong system designer — you architect distributed systems, databases, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures at production scale with sound trade-offs between speed, quality, and maintainability.
You create clarity in ambiguous environments: you decompose large problems into well-scoped workstreams with defined interfaces, ownership, and milestones.
You're AI-native — you use Claude and similar tools daily for boilerplate, documentation, tests, and first drafts, but rely on your own expertise for architecture decisions, code review judgment, and debugging. You own every line you commit.
You communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders, and you surface blockers early and transparently.
What You'll Be Doing
Write production code daily while leading technical design, running design reviews, and setting technical direction for a small team of engineers.
Own major capabilities end-to-end — from early technical strategy and architecture through implementation, launch, and long-term operation.
Partner closely with Product Managers on timeline, prioritization, and roadmap trade-offs, translating product
What We're Looking For
A team multiplier — your greatest impact comes from unblocking others, not just from your own output.
First-principles thinking applied to real-world product development at scale.
Deep care for team efficiency: you identify friction in workflows and drive optimization so the team can do its best work.
Resilience and ownership — you take problems end-to-end, move with urgency, and treat challenges as growth opportunities.
Fluent English communication, written and verbal.
Technical Requirements
into technical plans and surfacing engineering constraints early.
Architect and maintain distributed systems, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures that support large-scale, high-reliability production workloads.
Design RESTful APIs with intentionality, treating API interfaces as core product surfaces and driving a high-quality developer experience.
Build internal tooling and platform abstractions that increase leverage and velocity across the broader engineering organization.
Instrument systems for observability, identify bottlenecks, and resolve production incidents using tools like ELK, New Relic, or Datadog.
Champion responsible AI adoption across your team and model the standard for how AI-generated code gets reviewed, understood, and owned.
Scope work, define milestones, identify risks early, and drive your team to ship complex projects on time across parallel workstreams.
Must-Haves
6+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a tech lead or senior technical leadership capacity.
Proficiency in PHP/Laravel (strongly preferred) or another server-side language such as Python/Django, Java/Spring Boot, or Go.
Experience with Vue.js, React, or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to architect distributed systems, databases, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or workflow engines such as Temporal, Netflix Conductor, or Camunda) at production scale.
Strong working knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, with the ability to choose between SQL and NoSQL based on access patterns and scalability needs.
Hands-on experience with observability tooling such as ELK, New Relic, or Datadog.
Active, daily use of AI-powered development tools (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent).
Track record of designing RESTful APIs with care and intentionality.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience building internal developer tooling and platform abstractions that increase team leverage.
Background working in product-led, cross-functional team environments with product managers and designers.
Experience sizing team capacity, allocating engineers to workstreams, and managing timelines across parallel deliverables.
Familiarity with enterprise-grade security and reliability standards.
