- We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain the cloud infrastructure powering a U.S.-based SaaS platform serving the Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) industry across North America. You'll own the AWS environment, lead a major migration from a single-tenant architecture (700+ EC2 instances) to a modern multi-tenant ecosystem, and drive infrastructure as code, CI/CD improvements, HIPAA/SOC 2 compliance, and aggressive cost optimization.
- This is a high-ownership, high-influence role. You'll carry significant impact on the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform based on the strength of your systems thinking.
- The role is 100% Remoto, based in México, working 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST.
- You have 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering with strong, hands-on AWS experience across compute, storage, networking, and security.
- You write Terraform for everything that should be infrastructure as code — you don't manage infrastructure manually when automation is an option.
- You've operated Linux systems at production scale and you're comfortable in Bash and Python for scripting and automation.
- You think in systems: you understand how architectural decisions affect reliability, cost, and security, and you bring that thinking into every infrastructure decision.
- You communicate clearly in English in async, cross-timezone environments spanning Mexico, Europe, and the U.S.
- Own RouteGenie's AWS infrastructure: EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, Route 53, and ELB.
- Manage and improve Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and roll out blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies.
- Write Terraform to codify infrastructure and drive IaC adoption across the platform.
- Run monitoring and alerting across CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Sentry, and PagerDuty to ensure proactive visibility into system health.
- Drive infrastructure cost reduction against aggressive optimization targets.
- Partner with the backend team on the multi-tenant migration — one of the most significant architectural initiatives at the company.
- Support HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance work including audits, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing coordination.
- Contribute to architectural decisions alongside the Engineering Project Manager and Head of Technology.
- A proactive infrastructure owner who anticipates reliability and security risks before they become incidents.
- Strong cost-optimization instincts — you actively look for inefficiency and act on it.
- Comfort partnering with backend engineers on complex migration initiatives that span infrastructure and application layers.
- Clear async communication and the discipline to keep distributed teams informed across time zones.
- 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong AWS across compute, storage, networking, and security (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, ALB, Route 53).
- Solid Linux sysadmin experience (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux).
- Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.
- Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tooling.
- Bash and Python scripting.
- Working professional English with strong async written communication.
- Availability to work 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST.
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
- Kubernetes and AWS ECS experience.
- Ansible for configuration management.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture or infrastructure cost optimization.
- Background in healthcare or transportation SaaS platforms.
- Familiarity with Zabbix, VictoriaMetrics, or Sentry for observability.
