About the Role

  • Would you like to build the data foundations that help a whole company make smarter decisions? We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join the Data Foundations team of a U.S.-based social media management software company. This team builds the internal data infrastructure, pipelines, and data products that analytics, data science, and business teams rely on every day.
  • While software engineers focus on customer-facing features, you’ll make sure internal data is reliable, well-modeled, and easy to access. You’ll partner with Product, Finance, Sales, and Analytics to build trustworthy, scalable datasets that support decisions across the business. You’ll also mentor teammates and help shape the team’s roadmap and long-term data strategy.

About You

  • You have a strong foundation in data infrastructure and enjoy helping others succeed through high-quality data.
  • You have 5+ years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
  • You’ve modeled data across different business domains and know how to design schemas that last.
  • You work well with stakeholders from Product, Analytics, or Finance to gather

Technical Requirements

  • You value pragmatic engineering habits: testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, and observability.
  • You enjoy mentoring others and raising the bar for the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Implement ELT pipelines using managed connectors or open-source ingestion tools.
  • Codify transformations with frameworks that bring testing, CI/CD, and data contracts to analytics code.
  • Build reliable data ingestion from common and custom sources, and design resilient models for analytics, experimentation, and operations.
  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to define clear metrics and a semantic layer.
  • Apply best practices in schema design, data modeling, and metadata management.
  • Own and evolve internal data infrastructure for quality, monitoring, and discoverability.
  • Support analysts and data scientists with SQL debugging, orchestration setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with software engineering teams to keep application data clean, structured, and usable.
  • Mentor teammates and help with the hiring process.

What We’re Looking For

  • A passion for enabling others through trustworthy, high-quality data.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ownership of systems, from design to monitoring and improvement.
  • Pragmatism: balancing quality with the needs of the teams you support.
  • A mentoring mindset and openness to continuous learning.

  • Advanced SQL (for example, MySQL or PostgreSQL) and data modeling across different business domains.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Production experience with ELT and transformation frameworks (for example, dbt) and orchestrators (for example, Airflow).
  • Experience building internal data products, such as curated datasets, semantic layers, or reusable modeling frameworks.
  • Experience managing semantic layers and metrics for BI tools (for example, Tableau, Hex, or Looker).
  • Engineering practices: testing, version control, PR reviews, CI/CD, incident management, documentation, and data observability.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Analytics, or Finance to gather
  • and deliver data solutions.
  • Advanced English.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks, testing, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with event-driven or streaming tools (for example, Kafka, NSQ, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub).
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cost optimization for data platforms.
