About the Role

Are you passionate about building high-performance data infrastructure for mission-critical systems? We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of the database layer that powers a global application and over 70 essential services. You'll play a key role in implementing cutting-edge technologies like Postgres and Spark for a U.S.-based fintech company, contributing directly to business-critical initiatives.

About You

What You’ll Be Doing

● Design and implement robust, scalable database solutions using Postgres and Spark.
● Lead the delivery of the POA (Point of Arrival) database platform across multiple services.
● Drive performance optimization, capacity planning, and data migration initiatives.
● Collaborate with product, design, and security teams to align data solutions with business goals.
● Ensure high availability, data integrity, and security within distributed systems.
● Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor fellow engineers.

Technical Requirements

Must-Haves

● 9+ years in software development.
● 4+ years with Java and 3+ years with Apache Spark.
● 5+ years working with relational databases (Postgres or similar).
● Experience with SQL optimization, partitioning, lock management, and data migrations.
● Solid knowledge of distributed systems and microservices.
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice-to-Haves

● Experience with gRPC, Vertex, and cloud-based environments.
● FinTech or banking industry experience.
● Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and data infrastructure best practices.
● Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical initiatives.
